[USA NEWS] Church volunteers give Central Avenue a second chance_WMSCOG

That takes a great deal of cooperation and work ethic. That is what The World Mission Society Church of God learned this past Sunday.

The Church of God held the 2,470th environmental cleanup campaign of its 50-year-old organization. It was the SeaTac church's seventh cleanup and the second it has held in Kent. The first cleanup was similar to Sunday's in that it took place along Central Avenue from James Street to 259th Street.

Volunteers gathered at noon in the parking lot of Mill Creek Middle School, armed with a detailed understanding of Central Avenue's most neglected areas and ready to take the city by storm.

Fifty-two volunteers, separated into four teams, operated a leapfrog formation up and down Central Avenue, finishing the project promptly at 4 p.m. The church even provided its own dump truck for immediate disposal of the 38 bags of trash collected, as well as two bags of recyclable plastic. This, volunteers said, was the best way to provide the most relief, even to city employees who had been overwhelmed trying to dispose of the large number of trash bags collected during the first cleanup.

Regarding the reprisal of the cleanup campaign, one church representative said, "Doing the same cleanup again allowed us to really take into consideration situations that we were surprised by the first time. Since we had time to understand what was most needed by the community, we were able to offer help in a way that was customized to best and most effectively service the people of Kent."

Of course, it also helped that a few of those community members decided to join along the way. Hearing that the SeaTac church's purpose in holding this event was to "continuously share Mother's love with their neighbors," a Kent woman and her adult grandson donned the yellow Church of God vests and jumped right in. As environmental activists, the two remarked that they had a lovely time making acquaintance with the church through this event.

For my sick sister [Christ Ahnsahnghong & God the Mother]

One day on my way home after preaching, my phone rang suddenly.

“Mom, my stomach aches too much.  What should I do?”

My eldest daughter, a fifth grader at elementary school rang me, crying hard.   I told her to get some pocket money and go to the hospital immediately.


 A little while later, she said she got some treatment in the hospital and was on her way home.  Feeling relieved a little, I started to quicken my pace.

 “Amy, when you get home, you’d better skip the meal and just take some good rest.”

After talking on the phone with my eldest one, my son who is in the second year at elementary school rang me up.  “Mon,where is Chris?”

“Why?”  “Just wanted to serve her meal because she is sick now.”  At that moment, tears pricked my eyes.

“Amy, Make sure it’s dangerous and just wait for me a little.  I’ll go home now and do that for you”  

“Ok.”

He obediently answered and I was very thankful for this lovely son.

When I arrived home, there were some hams cut into several pieces and mixed with oil in a frying pan.

“Di you cut it, Mike?” 

“Yes, but I just left it like this because I couldn't light it on.”  

“No problem, Mom is going to do that for you.But then, why do the hams come in different sizes?”

“Sister is sick so I cut hers into a small size and the rest is cut in a bigger size.”

Suddenly tears welled up in my eyes again. In that evening, the son’s mind toward his sister stuck on my mind.  Next morning, the eldest one who was lying sick in bed, failing to go to school said,

“Mom! Mike must have written this.”

“What did he say?”

“Sis!  You are sick so you just lay in bed.  I will serve you a meal!”

After reading his memo, I was truly touched.  It was not that special but I could feel he must have felt sorry for her pain. Feeling his heart, I thought I also should have the same mind toward our brothers and sisters in the truth.

A few days after that, I received a magazine, ‘Elohist’ and the sermon of the month was titled, “Gospel that takes care of.”   

I would like to give thanks to God the Father and God the Mother for allowing me three children who support me as gospel helpers and for sharing fragrance of Zion with this deep feeling.

I would try hard to become the children of God who helps out heavenly brothers and sisters so Mother could have a sunny smile playing about her lips.

Walk Now For Autism World Mission Society Church of God -Christ Ahnsahnghong

The members of the World Mission Society Church of God participated in the NJ Walk Now for Autism. 

In order to raise awareness about autism, the members volunteered their time for this noble cause. 

Loving parents go to great lengths to care for their children with this condition, and the members of the Church of God understand their love. 

Both parents and their children were relieved seeing so many caring people willing to support them even if just for a little while.

Christ coming with power and great glory - Christ Ahnsahnghong

“Great honor, praise, or distinction accorded by common consent; Something conferring honor or renown; Majestic beauty and splendor.” It is the definition of the word “glory” in the Dictionary. When someone receives an award, graduates as the top student of his/her school, has an opportunity to meet celebrities or gives honor to God… We use the word “glory” at the moment it’s very impressive, our hearts is overflowing with joy or it’s filled with beauty.

The Bible also says that God dwells in glory and He will appear in His glory when He comes to us.

A voice of one calling: “In the desert prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God. Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.” (Isaiah 40:3-5)

Possibly God will fit this word best. However, the prophecy of appearing in glory came true differently from our common sense; Jesus came to the earth as an ordinary man. “Glory”, which means great honor, is far from an ordinary man. For all that, why does Jesus who came in humble flesh receive glory?

As is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet: “A voice of one calling in the desert, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him. Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth. And all mankind will see God’s salvation.‘ ” (Luke 3:4-6)

The words “the glory of God will be revealed and all mankind together will see it” are a prophecy that God will save us. It does not mean that He will appear in a glorious and majestic way outwardly but means that the appearance of God who saves us is the glory itself. It also applies to the Christ who is to appear again.

At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” (Luke 21:27-28)

Maybe many Christians are waiting for Christ coming in something majestic and splendid, looking up the sky, because there is a prophecy of coming in a cloud with power and great glory. However, it’s prophesied that Christ is to appear as a man like 2,000 years ago to save us.

so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. (Hebrews 9:28)

The Second Coming Christ also appears in glory because He comes to save us, even though He does not appear in a splendid and glorious appearance, contrary to many people’s expectations, but in an ordinary appearance like us.

For the LORD will rebuild Zion and appear in his glory. (Psalm 102:16)

 Still Now, many christans expecting to meet God who will come with power and great glory.  However, here is the people who accept the Second Coming Christ who already have come with power and great glory according to above Bible prophecy in the World Mission Society Church of God.
